It is located in the western part of the state, and it's only 25 miles away from Pittsburgh, making it part of the Pittsburgh Metropolitan Area. Washington County was the location of the historic event of the Whiskey Rebellion in 1791. The home of David Bradford, one of the famous rebels, is located in Washington and is a national landmark.
